Stacy Cervenka is a public policy consultant and writer who has worked in the field of public policy since 2006. She served as a Legislative Assistant to former U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, a government program analyst at the California Department of Rehabilitation, and the Executive Officer for the California State Rehabilitation Council. She later served as the Director of Public Policy for the American Foundation for the Blind and as the Senior Director of Policy for RespectAbility. Throughout her career, she has focused her policy work on disability employment, disability rights, vocational rehabilitation, adoption, foster care, juvenile justice, child protection, Native American and tribal policy, labor, transportation, NASA, commerical space, postal service issues, and North Korean human rights.
In addition to her policy work, Stacy has been a Contributing Writer for the Omaha Daily Record, covering federal, state, and local politics and policy, as well as non-profit organizations in southeastern Nebraska.
Stacy has also been active in advocacy for parents with disabilities, serving as Chair of the Blind Parents Group of the National Federation of the Blind. She currently serves on the Consumer Advisory Panel for the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation, which invests in innovative strategies to empower youth with disabilities.
Her middle-grade novel, Roxie In Color, co-written with Diane Debrovner, is set to be published in summer 2026. Stacy lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, with her husband Greg and their children, Leo and Josephine.
